Okoboji marina raises money for Spencer flood relief
OKOBOJI, Iowa (KCAU) — By selling special t-shirts, Parks Marina in Okoboji has raised over $5,000 for victims of flooding in Spencer.
The marina announced Monday that $5,497 has been donated to the Spencer Chamber Foundation Flood Recovery Fund. That money came from the sale of special “gold logo tees” at the marina’s Barefoot Bar. All proceeds from the t-shirt sales went to the fund.

“If we can use the Barefoot brand to help those impacted, we are proud to do so,” Debbie Parks, director of Parks Marina marketing, said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to our friends and neighbors to the south and we will continue to support any way we can.”
The Spencer Chamber Foundation’s website says that about $250,000 has been raised so far for residents and businesses in Spencer dealing with the aftermath of June’s severe flooding.
