One killed in shooting on Oakland’s Wood Street
(KRON) — One person is dead after a shooting in West Oakland on Tuesday afternoon, the Oakland Police Department said.
OPD responded to the 3400 block of Wood Street just after 3:45 p.m. to investigate a shooting. The victim was found in the backseat of a car with a gunshot wound.

The victim died at the scene, police said. An investigation is underway.

Wood Street was previously the site of California’s largest encampment, which was cleared out last year. It is also several blocks away from the Emeryville Target.
