One man dead after early morning shooting in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man is dead after an early morning shooting on Kansas City’s east side.

The shooting happened just after midnight Thursday morning, near 24th Street and Brighton, according to KCPD.

When police arrived, they found a man shot next to a house. That man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the victim and a suspect got into an argument inside the house — That escalated into a shooting.

Police said a suspect was arrested.
