One of nation's largest smoothie chains coming to East Peoria's Levee District

One of the nation's largest smoothie chains is coming to the Peoria area.

Tropical Smoothie Café will introduce its line of specialty smoothies, wraps, sandwiches and salads to East Peoria’s Levee District by late 2024.

The chain’s East Peoria location will occupy an existing storefront at 200 W. Washington St., according to City of East Peoria planning and development director Ty Livingston. The building is being renovated, and he anticipates the store will open by the end of the year.

“East Peoria has become a commercial hub for the area … and Tropical Smoothie Café complements the offerings we already provide,” Livingston added.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe has more than 1,300 locations across the United States, including 50 in Illinois. The closest one to Peoria is located at 312 Veterans Parkway in Normal.
