One person killed in single vehicle crash in Oneida Co.

WHITESTOWN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were called to a single vehicle accident at Clark Mills Road in Whitestown.

When deputies arrived, they discovered that 37-year-old Zechariah Lightsey from Canastota had been driving eastbound on Clark Mills Road when he failed to keep right and drove up on to the shoulder of the road, the sheriff’s office said.

Lightsey hit a mail box, utility pole and then a residence.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, said the sheriff’s office. No one in the residence was injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
