One woman dead after fatal crash in Susquehanna County

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— One woman is dead after a fatal crash Saturday night in Susquehanna County.

According to a Pennsylvania State Police Press release, police were called to the intersection of Snake Creek Road and Laurel Lake Road for a two car crash just after 7:00 p.m.

29-year-old Kelsey McCarthy was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.

Officials say McCarthy was traveling east on Laurel Lake Road when she passed the stop sign into the intersection of Snake Creek Road.

Another vehicle traveling south on Snake Creek Road braked, swerved left and McCarthy’s car causing her to slide down Snake Creek road into a guard rail and a tree on the east shoulder officials noted.

Troopers say the other car slid off the roadway into a tree.

The three occupants of the other car all suffered minor injuries, but were not transported.
