Orange Sheriff’s Office investigating deadly shooting in Wedgefield community
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in the Wedgefield community which killed one person.
In a press release, the agency said deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 20700 block of Racine Street shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday. Deputies transported the man to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
The agency did not identify the victim but said he was in his thirties. The press release said all those involved remain at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office did not provide additional information but said the investigation is ongoing.
Earlier in the day, the agency released the identity of a victim in a deadly shooting at Holden Lakes that occurred shortly after midnight Thursday.
