Orlando police arrest 4th suspect in shooting over July 4th weekend

A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with an Orlando shooting that injured a man and 4-year-old girl over the long Fourth of July weekend, the Police Department announced Wednesday.

OPD said in a press release that the Fugitive Investigative Unit apprehended Jezer Alexander Gonzalez, 23. The agency said he was charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery and armed robbery with a firearm.

Several armed individuals in an SUV pulled up to a truck about 12:18 p.m. Saturday and attacked the four people inside at 707 Oxalis Avenue, OPD said in the press release. Two in the truck — a 45-year-old man and the girl — were shot but are expected to recover. The two others were not injured.
