Outraged Columbus police officer cut me off in traffic. If I did that I'd be in trouble.

I'd be in trouble if I acted like Columbus police

Why is it, as normal citizens, if we are changing lanes or turning, we must use turn signals? Yes, it is to warm traffic all around us that we are changing lanes.

Recently, I was driving down Mound Street. And one of Columbus' finest cops was driving down the road.  And without signaling, the officer, in a K-9 unit cruiser, cut me off without signaling, forcing me to jam on my breaks and almost get rear-ended.

So why is it that cops can get away with not using their turn signals, but will ticket citizens for the same thing?

It doesn't seem fair to me.

Many years ago, if you saw a police officer not following the law you could do a citizens arrest. Today, you are likely the one getting a ticket for obstruction of justice or interfering with a police officer.

Why can police get away with this, but we are ticketed and given a court date?

Schools can be turned into daycare centers

Regarding school closures: It would seem to me that the board could get creative and rent the unused space out to a business, storage facility, etc.

The unused rooms would make a great daycare business. So many single moms have to work until 5 p.m., with school letting out at 3 p.m.

Guest columnist: Columbus students are not the problem. Adults are. Closing schools not the answer.

She could just pick the kids up from the school after getting off work and not have to find a separate babysitter or leave her kids alone unsupervised for two hours. That way the whole school would not have to be closed, and the extra work of repositioning kids and bus routes would not have to occur.

I want milkweed

I was happy your read the article on House Bill 364 that will allow for the proliferation of milkweed in Ohio to help save the monarch butterflies.

I wish the article had included the names of local nurseries, garden stores or other places where milkweed plants are available to the public to plant in our home gardens.
