A man has been hospitalized after the cement truck he was driving Thursday morning overturned on I-77 north of Ohio 271 near mile marker 143 in Richfield, according to Richfield Police Capt. Michael Swanson.

Authorities responded to reports of an overturned cement truck at about 9 a.m. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and it crashed on the highway. The truck's drum rolled into a nearby construction site and struck an unoccupied vehicle. No injuries at the site were reported.

The driver, however, was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

As of about 1:45 p.m., both northbound lanes are open after being shut down for hours.
