Palm Harbor man charged with DUI after crashing into car with 3 children inside, police say

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Palm Harbor man was charged with driving under the influence after he allegedly crashed into a car with three children inside on Friday night in Clearwater Beach, according to police.

The crash happened at about 9 p.m. in the area of Mandalay Avenue and Papaya Street.

Don Carr, 63, was allegedly driving his Dodge Durango south in the northbound lanes when he crashed into a Mazda SUV, police said.

The driver and the three children in the Mazda SUV were not injured, police said. Carr was booked into the Pinellas County Jail after being evaluated at a hospital.

Carr was charged with DUI with property damage, police said. He was also cited for driving the wrong way and careless driving.
