Parts of Florida have more snow than RI right now. See the totals.
For those who left New England and moved to Florida hoping to never see snow again, it's been an unpleasant couple of days if they moved to the Panhandle.
Much of the Florida Panhandle received more snow from a storm this week than Rhode Island had during its most recent snowstorm.
The official total from the National Weather Service Mobile was 7.6 inches of snow in Pensacola, according to Jessica Chace, a warning coordination meteorologist. And some smaller towns around Pensacola received up to 9.8 inches.
The old record for snowfall in Pensacola was 3 inches in 1895.
Moving east, Tallahassee received about 1.9 inches of snow, which was not a record, but significant for a city unaccustomed to dealing with snow. There have been power outages and people have been warned to stay off the roads.

How much snow did Rhode Island get earlier this week?
Florida is in the rare position of being able to say they have more snow than Rhode Island.
In the recent snowfall on Sunday into Monday, Providence received 3.3 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service. The highest reported snowfall total was 4.7 inches in Cumberland.

Is it colder in Rhode Island or Florida right now?
While it's cold in Florida, with temperatures in the 20s in the Panhandle, Rhode Island is still experiencing colder temperatures.
Tallahassee's forecast calls for a high of 38 degrees today and a low of 21. Providence is forecasted to have a high of 23 degrees and a low of 10 degrees.
