Passerby stabs man at HS grad pool party: Medina PD

MEDINA, Ohio (WJW) — A high school graduation party at the Falling Oaks Pool and Clubhouse in Medina turned violent Saturday just before 8 p.m., when a pedestrian passing by got into an altercation with some of the partygoers, resulting in the stabbing of a 36-year-old male, according to police.

“Officers found one stabbing victim who was taken to Medina Hospital by the Medina Life Support Team,” police said but did not give a condition on the stabbing victim.

The victim, who police have not named publicly, has been transported to Akron General Hospital.

Police said a knife was recovered at the scene, and that the suspect fled before officers arrived. “Responding officers and detectives immediately launched an investigation and identified the suspect of the stabbing as Antonio Watkins,” according to police.

Later Saturday night, Medina detectives located Watkins and took him into custody at a residence in Lakewood, police reported. Watkins was incarcerated in the Medina County Jail on a charge of felonious assault.

“Additional charges may be pending upon presentation of the case to the Medina County Grand Jury,” according to law enforcement.
