Two men shot dead in Paterson six hours apart, two others hospitalized

PATERSON — Two men were shot dead in the city six hours apart on Sunday.

In a shooting just before 2:30 a.m., a 22-year-old man was fatally wounded in the area of River and East 13th streets. In addition to the fatality, officials said, a 24-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center with gunshot wounds. It appears those two men were taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

Around 8:30 a.m., Paterson police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle near 18th Avenue and East 28th Street and found a 33-year-old Paterson man in the driver's seat dead, with a gunshot wound to the head. The death is being treated as a homicide.
