"Patrimony" Film, Co-Starring 'Passion''s Melissa Errico, Will Be Screened in NYC

Melissa Errico, who will take on her first major Sondheim role in New York in 2013 when she co-stars in Classic Stage Company's production of the Tony-winning Passion, can also be seen in the new short film "Patrimony."

The film, which co-stars Academy Award nominee Robert Vaughn, has been selected to be part of the inaugural New York International Short Film Festival (NY Shorts Fest).

The Manhattan festival, which "provides a showcase for the best short-form cinema and its creators in the world," will be held May 29-31 at The Landmark Sunshine Cinema on Houston Street.

Don Marcus directed "Patrimony." The upcoming festival will mark the short film's first official showing in New York.

About her new film, Errico told Playbill.com, "I am so excited our film will be a part of this exciting New York festival. Working with Robert Vaughn and Don Marcus was an honor. After every day of shooting in Cape Cod, Robert and I went to long dinners and talked endlessly. He has some fantastic stories to tell about 'The Magnificent Seven' and all those great years! I loved those evenings, and trusted him so much when we were in front of the camera."

Melissa Errico, most recently seen on Broadway in Irving Berlin's White Christmas, began her professional career portraying Cosette in Les Misérables, and she followed with leading Broadway roles in Anna Karenina, My Fair Lady, High Society, Amour (Tony nomination) and Dracula, plus roles in the City Center Encores! productions of Call Me Madam and One Touch of Venus. She appeared in a production of Threepenny Opera at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and her recent Off-Broadway credits include Candida (Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Play), Finian's Rainbow and Aunt Dan and Lemon. She also starred in the Hollywood Bowl presentations of Camelot and The Sound of Music. Her newest solo recording, "Legrand Affair," produced by Phil Ramone and featuring a 100-piece symphony arranged and conducted by Legrand, is available from Ghostlight Records.
