Pedestrian killed in Kansas City, Kansas I-70 crash identified

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified the pedestrian killed in a crash late last week on Interstate 70 in Kansas City, Kansas.

The crash was reported just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, on eastbound I-70, just east of 18th Street.

KHP said a pedestrian was walking south across the I-70 eastbound lanes and was struck by a vehicle. The driver stopped, and nobody in the car was hurt.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as 34-year-old Cory Allen Poland, of KCK.

The incident remains under investigation.
