Peel police to offer $100K rewards for info in 2 unsolved murders

Peel police plan to announce two $100,000 rewards for information that could identify or lead to the arrests of suspects in the unsolved murders of two women in Mississauga.

Jackline Gore and Raneilia Richards were fatally shot in separate incidents four years apart, but police say neither woman was the intended target of the shooters. Both were said to be innocent bystanders.

Insp. Todd Custance and Det.-Sgt. Phil King, members of the Peel homicide and missing persons bureau, are expected to announce the rewards on Monday.

On July 8, 2019, Gore, 24, of London, Ont., was fatally shot outside Fume Bar & Lounge on Tobram Road near Derry Road.

Gore was standing in a parking lot with friends at about 2:48 a.m., when a masked man approached a nearby group of men and opened fire. The intended target was among that group, police said after the shooting.

The target fled and the gunman chased him through a park, shooting at him. One of the bullets hit Gore.

According to police, Gore was an accomplished varsity basketball player, who attended York and Western universities before landing a full-time job at a bank. She was out with friends that night and had no association with the man who police believe was the intended target of the shooting.

Richards waiting in line outside of the club in a group of roughly 100 people at about 1:30 a.m., when several rounds were fired at the crowd, likely from a car, police have said. She was found suffering from serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, Richards was a talented athlete, about to attend college and planned to work toward a career in the travel and aviation industry.

The news conference where the rewards will be announced is scheduled to be held at Peel police headquarters at 10:30 a.m.
