Pelosi: ‘I thank God that former President Trump is safe’
Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that “political violence of any kind has no place in our society” after apparent shots were fired at former President Trump’s rally in Butler, Pa., on Saturday.
“As one whose family has been the victim of political violence, I know firsthand that political violence of any kind has no place in our society,” Pelosi said in a post on X, referring to the attack on her husband, Paul Pelosi, at their San Francisco home two years ago.

“I thank God that former President Trump is safe,” Pelosi said. “As we learn more details about this horrifying incident, let us pray that all those in attendance at the former President’s rally today are unharmed.”

Trump was seen with blood on the side of his face near his ear as Secret Service agents huddled around him on stage.
A spokesperson for Trump’s campaign said the former president is “fine” and being treated at a local medical facility.
