PennDOT: Traffic signal activation for Wilhelm Ave. realignment project starting next week

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is asking that residents use caution as a new traffic signal located at the intersection of Cornwall Road and the realigned section of Wilhelm Avenue in the City of Lebanon and North Cornwall Township is expected to be fully activated next week.

The work is part of a project that includes the realignment of Wilhelm Avenue to create a 4-way signalized intersection with York Street and Cornwall Road, according to officials. Improvements also involve sidewalk connectivity improvements, ADA compliant curb ramps, bike lane accommodations, drainage improvements, lighting, and other miscellaneous construction.

"The signal will be placed on flash mode today," PennDOT officials said in a release Thursday. "It is expected to be fully activated Tuesday, July 2."

All work is expected to be completed by Sept. 11, 2024. H&K Group, Inc., of Skippack, Pa., is the contractor on this $1,842,599 project.
