Pennsylvania Turnpike expecting 5.6 million motorists to travel around July 4
(WHTM) – The Pennsylvania Turnpike says they expect to see millions of motorists traveling around the July 4 holiday.
During a 10 day period leading up to and after the holiday, the Turnpike is projecting to see 5,620,000 motorists from June 28 through July 7. That’s a 3% increase from last year during the same period.

The business day is expected to be July 3; the daily traffic projected for the holiday period systemwide are:

In preparation for the increased travel, the Turnpike says they’ll be increasing safety teams and construction will be suspended from June 28 until July 7. Drivers should also expect increased State Police patrols on the roadway.
