Harrisburg woman killed on Alaska rafting trip

COPPER CENTER, Alaska — A Harrisburg woman was killed in a rafting incident in the 49th State over the weekend, state troopers confirmed.

Alaska State Troopers said the incident happened around 6:25 p.m. Sunday on the Klutina RIver near Copper Center, about 160 air miles from Anchorage.

One raft in a group of three was pinned against landslide debris and rolled over.

A guide and three passengers were aboard that raft.

One of the passengers — Deborah Burke, 65, of Harrisburg — succumbed to her injuries, troopers said.

The rafting guide and another passenger were flown to Anchorage with serious injuries.
