Coroner IDs bicyclist killed after being hit by car
Editor’s note: The location of the crash has been updated to reflect new information provided by Conway police.
CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — One person is dead following a Sunday night crash involving a car and bicycle, according to a Conway police spokesperson.
The person killed was identified as 19-year-old Silvestre Cortes, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.
Cortes was attempting to cross Highway 501 near University Boulevard where he was hit and died at the scene of blunt force trauma, the coroner’s office said.
The crash happened at about 11:30 p.m. and no further details were available.
The crash is being investigated by Conway police. Count on News13 for updates.
