Person critically injured after being stabbed in downtown Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A man was critically injured after being stabbed in downtown Wichita late Sunday afternoon.

According to Wichita Police Department Captain Aaron Moses, officers were dispatched at 4:18 p.m. to the report of a stabbing in the area of 600 N. Topeka.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 48-year-old man with multiple stab wounds.

“That male was transported to an area hospital in extremely critical condition,” said Moses. “He is undergoing medical treatment at this time.”

Multiple people were interviewed. At this point, Wichita police believe the suspect and victim were having a verbal argument ahead of the stabbing.
