PHOTOS: Tornado touches down in Citrus County, destroys several buildings

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A tornado touched down on the west side of Crystal River, destroying several structures, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency crews are actively on the scene assessing the damage.

Severe thunderstorms reported in Hillsborough, Pinellas counties

No injuries have been reported at this time.

The sheriff’s office said that residents weren’t alerted of a tornado watch or warning due to the size being too small for the National Weather Service to register on their radar.
