The hurricane is expected to bring life-threatening winds and storm surge to Jamaica Wednesday.

Where it goes later this week depends on several factors, including a high-pressure system over the U.S., interaction with land and wind shear.

Long-range forecasts range from Beryl moving directly west into Mexico to taking a curve north in the Gulf of Mexico, where South Texas to the tip of Florida's western Panhandle could feel direct impacts of wind and rain associated with the storm.

Impact on Carriacou Island was devastating and images are starting to come in on what the Category 4 did to the island nation.
