Police arrest man accused of interstate shooting leaving one dead in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPOUD) — Police made an arrest in connection to a deadly Baton Rouge shooting in August.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said Tyquincy James, 24, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and possession of machine guns in connection to the shooting death of Antoine Bowie, 22.
Police said the shooting took place around 11:59 p.m. Aug. 17 on north I-110 near the Government exit.
Bowie and a passenger were heading north on the interstate when gunshots were fired from another vehicle and hit them. BRPD said Bowie died at the scene from gunshot injuries and the passenger was taken to the hospital.
