Silver alert issued for missing Logansport teen after parents back out of agreed meeting, ISP says

LOGANSPORT — Indiana State Police have issued a Silver Alert in the disappearance of a 14-year-old boy who's alleged to have suffered abuse in his home.

Earlier Friday, Bryson's parents agreed to bring the 14-year-old son to meet with Indiana State Police investigators at noon, a news release from state police stated. An hour before the meeting, his parents "back out of that arrangement, which signaled an unwillingness to cooperate," police said.

When was Bryson Muir last seen —

Bryson Muir was last seen Sunday, June 16, leaving a family member’s residence in Ohio with his mother, Kristen Muir.

The vehicle involved in Bryson Muir's disappearance —

Bryson's mother picked him up from Ohio in a white 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The car belonged to Servant Leader’s Foundation in Kokomo, according to police.

Officials said the vehicle was stopped by the Garfield Heights Police Department shortly after leaving the residence, but Bryson Muir was not inside.

On June 18, two days after he went missing, Cass County child welfare workers contacted Indiana State Police regarding allegations of abuse on the Bryson Muir. The domestic battery is alleged to have occurred inside the boy’s home in the 1700 block of West US Highway 24 in Logansport. In a photo provided to the news media, the boy appeared to have a swollen, black eye.

State Police said investigators on June 27 were able to reach the boy’s parents, Daniel and Kristen Muir, at their home on the property of the Servant Leader's Foundation in Logansport.

"While the Muirs are beginning to show signs of cooperation, Bryson has still not been seen or located by investigators," a news release from state police said.

Daniel Muir, a former Colts defensive tackle, and his wife live in Logansport, a town of roughly 20,000 residents about 90 miles north of Indianapolis.

On Friday, June 28, police said Daniel and Kristen Muir had agreed to bring Bryson to meet with investigators at noon at a State Police headquarters in Peru. About an hour before the meeting, the Muirs backed out, police said.
