Police chase involving stolen car leads to rollover crash on busy Boardman intersection

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — A police chase involving a stolen vehicle led to a rollover crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 224 and South Avenue around 4 p.m. Sunday.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, the chase began after a Ford Expedition was stolen from the Cleveland Hopkins Airport. Troopers and Boardman Police chased it down the Ohio Turnpike onto Route 224 in Boardman, where it hit an OSHP cruiser.

A second OSHP cruiser hit a pickup truck, which was not involved in the chase. The truck landed on its roof near South Avenue. The trooper and the people in the truck were treated for minor injuries.

The pursuit continued into Pennsylvania, ending on Interstate 76.

The driver who stole the car was appended, and charges are pending.
