Police ID man killed in Ogletown hit-and-run, driver still not identified

Delaware State Police have identified the 57-year-old Newark man who died Friday afternoon in a hit-and-run crash in Ogletown.

According to police, Michael Daloise was walking north on the right shoulder of Salem Church Road, north of Michaels Lane, when a white car "failed to maintain its lane" and drifted onto the shoulder.

The driver hit Daloise then drove away.

First responders rushed Daloise to a local hospital, where he died. Police are still searching for the car.

Troopers said it's an unknown make and model, but it possibly has damage to its front right side from where it hit Daloise.
