Police investigate bank robbery in Norwich. Here's what we know

Norwich Police are searching for the suspect involved in an armed robbery at a Centreville Bank branch.

On Tuesday morning, the Norwich Police Dispatch Center received a 911 call from an employee of the Centreville Bank branch located at 40 High Street in Norwich. The caller reported the bank had just been robbed at gunpoint and the suspect had fled the scene.

Norwich patrol officers as well as the detective division responded to the scene. Video surveillance from the bank shows a black male suspect entered the bank holding a handgun and demanded money from the bank employee.

The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. K-9 officers from the Groton Town and East Lyme police departments responded to the scene and conducted a canine track for the suspect, whom they were unable to locate.

As of Wednesday evening, the suspect had still not been found.
