Police: Masked, armed man robs Citizens Bank in North Canton
NORTH CANTON − A man wearing a mask displayed a gun Thursday afternoon and robbed the Citizens Bank on North Main Street of an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
Police got an emergency call reporting a robbery from the bank at 1000 N. Main St. at 2:06 p.m., a police statement said. When officers got there, the bank robber was gone. Witnesses told police the robber got into a black Honda Civic being driven by someone else and fled.
City police have determined that the black Honda Civic was stolen in Canton Thursday morning. Officers released a description of the bank robber: a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a dark medical mask. They did not have a description of the driver of the getaway vehicle.
It's the second bank robbery this week in Stark County.
A suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from a Citizens Bank on Wales Avenue NW in Jackson Township on Tuesday morning. The suspect in that case was wearing black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt and a ski mask. He fled in a black Chevrolet sedan.
