POLICE NEWS: Warsaw woman injured in crash with tree

Dec. 3—A driver was hospitalized on Monday after she struck a tree with her vehicle.

Elkhart County deputies reported that at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jessica Erin Clifford, 35, of Warsaw, was traveling south on C.R. 25 from C.R. 50 when she crossed the center line, ran off the road, struck a tree and flipped the 2015 Ford Escape she was driving onto its roof.

After being extracted from the vehicle, Clifford was taken to Parkview North Hospital for chest pain and a knee injury.

ARRESTS

—Goshen police were called to Chandler Elementary School, 419 S. Eighth St., for a report of a fight between two 15-year-old boys at 10 a.m. Monday. The teens were arrested and transported to the Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center were they were processed and released to parents.

—A 45-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 9:26 p.m. Dec. 27 on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he was stopped for a moving violation at C.R. 11 south of C.R. 30.

—A 39-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 11:49 p.m. Dec. 27 on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he was stopped for traffic violations on C.R. 28 near C.R. 11.

—A 61-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 3:40 p.m. Nov. 28 on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated near C.R. 28 and C.R. 1.

—A 57-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 12:18 p.m. Nov. 30 on charge of operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator near U.S. 33 and Sunnyside Avenue in Elkhart.

—A 44-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 1:55 p.m. Nov. 30 on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of a hypodermic needle after he was involved in a crash in the 16000 block of C.R. 36 in Goshen.

—A 21-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 11:55 p.m. Nov. 30 on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment after he was stopped for traffic violations near C.R. 1 and C.R. 16.

—A 42-year-old woman was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 3:03 a.m. Dec. 1 on charges of resisting law enforcement, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana, after she was stopped for traffic violations near Old U.S. 33 and Ash Road.

—A 51-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 5:31 p.m. Monday on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with priors after a concerned citizen contacted law enforcement to report him impaired while driving on C.R. 17 south of U.S. 20.

SEX CRIME

—A 39-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies that between Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 someone committed sexual assault in Elkhart.

BURGLARY

—A 24-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies that between Nov. 20 and Nov. 27 someone broke into his storage unit at Storage Rentals of America, 52292 C.R. 9, Elkhart, and stole several tools.

—A 47-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies that between 1 and 1:30 a.m. Nov. 28 someone broke into Infinity Trailers on Faith Avenue and stole numerous power tool batteries and cash.

—Staff at Super Wash Carwash, 25062 C.R.6, Elkhart, reported to Elkhart County deputies that between 9 p.m. Nov. 27 and 11:54 a.m. Nov. 28 someone forced entry and took items.

—A 45-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies at 10 a.m. Sunday that someone broke into his home in the 57000 block of Santa Anita Street in Elkhart and stole around $2,000 worth of gold jewelry.
