Police have not arrested assailant in fatal Northeast Austin stabbing

No arrests have been made in the stabbing death of a 31-year-old man who was killed in a residence in Northeast Austin on Friday, police said.

Police responded to a home in the 8200 block of Grayledge Drive after 4 a.m. and found Edgar Yudiel Granados had been stabbed to death, the Austin Police Department said in a Monday press release. The 911 caller stated that a person had stabbed Granados and then run from the residence, the release said.

First responders attempted life-saving measures, but Granados was pronounced dead about 45 minutes after the 911 call, officer Austin Zarling said Friday at a press conference.

The investigation is in the early stages and is ongoing, police said.
