Police officer sexual assault case dismissed

The case of a police officer who was accused of sexually assaulting a woman while he was on duty has been dismissed.

Liam Porter, 42, of Hampshire Constabulary, was accused of intentionally touching a woman without her consent and was suspended from duty.

He had always denied the incident - alleged to have happened in Clanfield, north of Portsmouth, on 18 January - took place.

The case against PC Porter concluded on Sunday at City Nightingale Court after no evidence was offered by the prosecution.
