Police search for suspect following deadly shooting east of Las Vegas Strip
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — One person is dead after an early morning shooting and police are looking for the suspect Monday morning in a neighborhood north of UNLV.
Las Vegas Metropolitan police said officers responded to a 9-1-1 call of gunfire and a shooting victim around 3:45 a.m. near the 3900 block of Palos Verdes Street, north of Flamingo Road.
Lt. Robert Price said officers found a man slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle. The man was transported to Sunrise Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Price said witnesses told police a man and woman were talking in the middle of the street when they heard a “pop” and saw the man, who was bleeding run to the car. She ran south on Palo Verdes.
Police set up a perimeter bordering Flamingo Road, Palo Verdes, and University Drive to search for the woman.
Price said the shooting was an isolated incident and no threat to the public. The suspect was still at large as of the Metro News briefing at 8:15 a.m.
