Police: Woman arrested for damaging cars, assaulting officers in Manassas

MANASSAS, Va. (DC News Now) — The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said a woman was arrested for allegedly throwing things at cars in Manassas late Wednesday night.

On July 3 at around 11:41 p.m., officers went to Pointer Lane near Portsmouth Road to investigate. There, police saw a woman holding a section of concrete at the intersection.

Officers detained the woman and she tried to resist by hitting two officers before being put into a police cruiser.

PWCPD said the woman damaged multiple parked cars.

No injuries were reported.

The woman, identified as 20-year-old Kimberly Sierra-Ovando, was charged with:

  • Two counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer

  • Throwing missiles at occupied vehicles

  • Obstruction of justice

  • Two counts of vandalism

  • Careless interference with traffic

She was being held without bond.
