This Porterville program will let you dispose dusty mattresses

PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – If you have a dusty old mattress lying around, the City of Porterville will be launching a mattress recycling program on Saturday.

The city says the Mattress Recycling Program will be on Saturday, July 20 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Corporation Yard located at 555 N. Prospect St., in Porterville.

According to the city, they will be accepting mattresses and futon mattresses only every third Saturday of the month. Mattresses will not be accepted on any other day.

Mattresses will be limited to five units per vehicle and residents are required to unload their own mattresses.

The city says they will not be accepting pull-out couch beds, mattress pads, mattress toppers, and crib mattresses.

Proof of residency is not required.
