Powerball ‘Jackpot Reset’ leads to a $50k win for Missouri Lottery player

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Thanks to Powerball’s “Jackpot Reset” promotion, a Missouri Lottery player won $50,000 on June 12.

The promotion begins every time the Powerball jackpot hits. Since the jackpot had been won on June 10, the promotion was active until June 17.

The winner claims that it’s all thanks to the clerk working at State Line BP on State Line Road in Kansas City. While talking with the clerk, the winner realized the promotion was active, which allowed him to get a free Powerball ticket with a qualifying purchase.

“We were talking about that, and I said, ‘Go ahead and give me one,'” the winner shared.

“I never would have gotten that ticket if I wasn’t talking to that clerk.”

Since the player chose to add the Double Play feature to his purchase, his original Powerball numbers were entered into the Double Play drawing.

When he checked his numbers the next day, he learned that he had won $50,000.
