PSP: Under 40 pounds of marijuana found at Dauphin County shipping facility, 2 charged

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Just under 40 pounds of marijuana coming from across the country to Pennsylvania was found by investigators last week at a shipping facility, State Police say, and two men are facing charges.

According to the charges filed by State Police in York, Brandon Smith, 26, and Justin Johnson, 26, both of Maryland, allegedly picked up the parcel and were taken into custody.

State Police said they seized the parcel that was from California at a Dauphin County shipping facility Thursday, June 6 and searched it. The parcel was being sent to an address in Spring Grove.

Inside the package was around 37 pounds of marijuana and two pounds of “THC solid,” according to a criminal complaint, that State Police tested and came back positive for THC.

While the Spring Grove home was being surveyed by investigators Friday, June 7, the duo arrived to get the package, the complaint says. They were then identified and taken into custody by State Police, who noted they also saw marijuana inside their vehicle.

The pair face a felony charge of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver.
