QC man sentenced to federal prison for marijuana, machine gun
A Quad Cities man was sentenced on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, to 10 1/2 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute less than 50 kilograms of marijuana and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, according to a news release.
According to public court documents, Trevon Demon Horne, 23, was arrested by Davenport Police after a search warrant executed at his Davenport residence. During the search of Horne’s residence, officers located about a pound of marijuana, digital scales, currency, and a Glock .45 caliber gun with an auto-sear switch that made the firearm a machine gun. Horne admitted to selling marijuana and possessing the Glock in furtherance of his drug trafficking.
After completing his term of imprisonment, Horne will be required to serve five years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
U. S. Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa made the announcement. This case was investigated by the Davenport Police Department.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence, and to make neighborhoods safer for everyone.
