Raging Flames Engulf Texas Oil Facility

Authorities issued evacuation warnings for parts of Odessa, Texas, on Tuesday, July 23, after a massive fire broke out at an oilfield.

Chemicals from the facility, Permian Basin Containers, were reported to be burning at the scene as the fire grew, according to the Ector County Sheriff’s Office.

The City of Odessa later said the evacuation warning was lifted for the area except for two nearby buildings.

A nearby mobile home and RV were destroyed in addition to the Permian Basin Containers’ property, and some nearby residents lost power, according to CBS 7. No injuries were reported.
