Railroad will temporarily close some Muscatine crossings for maintenace

The Canadian Pacific-Kansas City Railroad (CPKC) will close crossings in Muscatine to replace ties and perform additional maintenance starting Monday, July 22, according to a news release.

All crossings will be closed for three days from initial closure, weather permitting.

On Monday CPKC will close the crossing on Dick Drake Way and the crossing on Sampson Street. The detour will be to use either Oregon Street or Grandview Avenue to bypass the crossing closures.

Crossing work will follow at Canal Street, the bike bath at the flood wall, and the two pedestrian crossings around Iowa Avenue starting Wednesday, July 24.

CPKC is also performing work in Muscatine County on I Avenue (also known as Whiskey Hollow Road) and on North Street in Fruitland.
