Raising Cane's awards $1,000 to Alliance pantry

The busy Tuesday morning at Raising Cane’s grand opening Tuesday in Alliance also included a gift to a vital community agency.

Raising Cane’s awarded a $1,000 gift to Alliance Community Pantry to help support its efforts to assist those dealing with food insecurity and hunger.

During a ceremony timed to a ribbon-cutting for Cane’s 58th Ohio location, pantry officials were on hand to receive the gift.

Justin Pesicek, area leader for Cane’s Restaurants, and Kate Libertore, manager of the Alliance Cane’s restaurant, awarded a check to Bruce Helsel, the pantry’s board president.

Alliance Mayor Andy Grove and Greater Alliance Chamber of Commerce President Rick Baxter also took part in the ribbon cutting. In the morning, Cane’s officials also conducted a drawing to award 20 customers, known as the "Lucky 20," free Cane's for a year.

Raising Cane’s is open 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
