Recall on produce items sold at Walmart, Aldi

(WJW) – A recall for cucumbers sold at select Walmart stores has now been expanded to include even more produce sold at both Walmart and Aldi stores in Ohio.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Ohio-based company, Wiers Farm Inc.’s voluntary recall on July 12 for some whole and bagged salad cucumbers now also includes items such as green beans, peppers, jalapenos, zucchini, yellow squash, and more because the impacted produce could potentially be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes.

Risk level issued as part of ongoing coffee recall

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection, that sickens about 1,600 people each year and can be deadly.

The FDA published the expanded recall on July 23 and reported that so far there have been no illnesses or consumer complaints reported.

Nationwide recall: Migraine relief medication

Products involved in the expanded recall were packed between July 5-12.
