Red Cross issues call for blood and platelet donors in Crawford County

The American Red Cross urges donors to give blood or platelets to reinforce the blood supply as much as possible before the summer winds down. Type O blood donors and those giving platelets are especially needed.

Blood drives in Crawford County will be held:

  • Aug 6., 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Bucyrus Moose Lodge 669, 216 E. Mansfield St., Bucyrus

  • Aug. 6, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Galion Alliance Church, 430 Portland Way N., Galion

  • Aug. 7, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Galion Community Hospital, 269 Portland Way South, Galion

  • Aug. 12, 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Knights of Columbus Hall, 110 S. Kibler St., New Washington

Book a time to give blood or platelets by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS or by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App.

Those who give Aug. 1-31 will get a $20 Amazon.com gift card by email.
