This year, the organization broke its record and provided nearly 3,000 meals to people across Onondaga County. Hundreds of volunteers delivered meals to thousands and served nearly 300 guests in downtown Syracuse.
Dan Sieburg, CEO of Rescue Mission, said the need seems to grow every year, as does the number of volunteers who are ready to give a helping hand.
“We’ve been around since 1887 and I like to believe they served a couple of Thanksgiving meals way back then,” Sieburg said. “Now, every year, this is just what we do for our community.”
