The Food Establishment Inspection Report is a weekly report that appears Sundays. Information is taken from reports provided by the Environmental Health Department, and individual reports can be viewed at its website, http://amarillo.gov/departments/community-services/environmental-health/foodinspections. A numerical grading system is now being used, with a score of 100 points being equivalent to zero demerits.

  • 100 points – No major violation at the time of inspection

  • 85 points – Considered an average score

  • 70 points or below – Requires re-inspection within 24 hours

  • COS – Corrected on site during inspection

These points correspond to the following letter grades:

  • A – 90 to 100

  • B – 80 to 89

  • C – 70 to 79

  • F – 69 and below

Mold growth inside ice machine; employees switched between cooking and taking money without washing hands or adding gloves; cardboard used to line area where chicken is battered. COS. Broken gaskets on walk-in freezer and reach-in warmer; faucet broken at hand sink by fryers. Correct by 07/29. (A/98) Comfort Inn & Suites, 2300 S. Soncy Road. Boxes of waffle mix stored on floor; permit, score card and food manager certificate are not within 10 feet of the front door. Correct by 01/15/2025.

(A/91) EID Meat Market LLC, 2623 Paramount Blvd. No chlorine sanitizer prepared; employee did not wash hands before putting on gloves. COS. A pump out port and variance is needed due to grease trap being located inside establishment (repeat violation). Correct by 10/12.

Household fly strips in use next to ice machine; ice buildup in hamburger freezer (repeat violation); cutting boards on burger cooler deeply scored; grease buildup or food debris on equipment surfaces; hard water build-up under ice machine (repeat violation); light bulb burned out in reach-in freezer. Correct by 01/17/2025.

Georgia St. No label on several packaged items on shelves; no paper towels in restroom or near hand sink in stock room; no soap at hand sink in stock room. COS.
