Risky in the wrong hands: Thieves steal military gear, rifle magazines in Wichita Falls
Wichita Falls police are asking the public's health to catch thieves who made off with essential military gear, according to a Crime Stoppers media release.
Sometime between 7:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. on Nov. 16, somebody stole two storage crates from the the bed of a government-issued white Ford F-350 parked at the Holiday Inn Express, 5300 Kell Blvd. West.
The crates contained over $15,000 worth of military gear, including plate carriers, ballistic helmets, boots, holsters and rifle magazines.
Police said the equipment could pose a serious risk in the wrong hands.
The department asks anyone who was in the area, saw anything suspicious or has any information that could help solve this case to come forward.
