Rochester man accused of robbery, threatening dollar store employee with knife

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Gates police arrested and accused a Rochester man of robbery after he allegedly attempted to steal from a dollar store and threatened an employee with a knife.

According to GPD, officers responded to the dollar store around 9:50 a.m. for the report of a shoplifter leaving the store.

GPD said when officers arrived, they found 48-year-old Travis Hightower who fit the suspect description, and police were told that the suspect threatened an employee with a knife when they confronted the man for stealing.

Hightower was charged with Robbery (3rd), Menacing (3rd), and Petit Larceny. He was arraigned in Gates Court and remanded to Monroe County Jail without bail due to already being a felon.
