RV drives into ‘Big Penny’

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — An RV collided with the bridge on Pennsylvania Ave near Potter Park Zoo on Wednesday evening, shutting down the road.

Lansing police say they received a call about a vehicle in the northbound lane of Pennsylvania Ave colliding with the bridge, known lovingly and infamously by the locals as “Big Penny” and “The Barber,” at 6:04 p.m. Wednesday.

LAST WEEK: Yet another truck loses to Penn Bridge; gets stuck

The road was shut down for 10 minutes while responders worked to free the vehicle from the bridge.

No injuries were reported.
